Joysticks appear to work with 18wos-h using /dev/input/event devices only. (Which also must be readable for the user in question, nota bene) There is information in the Wine Wiki on how to set it up with regedit.
The game crashes occasionally when accessing the Notebook screen ("manage drivers" etc). Don't know if that is wine specific or just a plain bug in the game itself. I've tested with a fairly current development version of wine, a linux 2.6 kernel, and the cd-version of 18wos-h with the latest patch (i.e. version 1.06).
