Additional Comments

Maverick 10.10 no longer uses OSS and hasn't /dev/dsp.
To make the sound during gameplay working properly (not a wine issue) launch wine with 'padsp wine'

sound without wine-pulse

As said in the test results there is no ingame sound with the ALSA driver.
I have tested it with both wine 1.2 and 1.3.27 and it seems to be possible to solve this without without using 'padsp wine'.
You can use the ALSA driver by changing the DirectSound Hardware Acceleration to Emulation instead of Full.
