What works

  • Had a previous installation, just tested it with an updated wine.
  • Intro movie shows fine but only at a fraction of the screen.
  • Mouse cursor works fine in the main menu - this is definetely an improvement
  • First mission starts up fine


What does not

  • Intro movie shows fine but only at a fraction of the screen.
  • Text overlaps in dialogue and makes the text unreadable at the second page.
  • Lower part of the screen doesn't show correctly (see screenshot)

Note

I know, exists version for Linux from Epic Interactive, but this Linux version is actualy very expensive (10x more) and in Czech Republic not exists local distributor. Then i tested demo version for Windows downloaded from distributor CD Projekt.

Installation pass without any problem, but game ends with error "Please install a newer version of DirectX" (game needs DirectX 8.x). I tested it with Wine 0.9.2 without any Microsoft libraries, only with clean Wine installation. Other games (for example Carmageddon TRD 2000, Heroes III, Heroes 4 ...) works.
