Additional Comments
Nothing special needs to be done for install, or run except the usual missing dll's. Registration doesn't work and shows a garbled page, however registration can be bypassed by holding down CTRL and SHIFT while clicking the "Update" button. After the first time it won't ask you to register again.

Update to wine 1.2

I started with a clean slate and did the following:
1. winetricks, gui checked gecko and ie6...
2. Copied the quicken CD to the hard drive as an iso , mounted the .iso
3. wine install.exe from that mounting.
I suppose you could just put the CD in your reader and do the install from the CD, but I did not try that.
What worked? Well, everything I tried. I have a large and old quicken backup that it worked with. Down loaded from my credit union, several credit card companies and my broker (Fidelity). Downloaded and installed its own (quicken's) update(s). Register with no problem.
The only issue I have is that type ahead is not working, i.e. I can type fast enough that characters are dropped.

Hint: Don't install to the root (C:\Quicken) of a drive - seems like they want you to go at least one more subfolder deep, and there is an option to manually download the patching .exe.
