Old test results
The test results you have selected are very old and may not represent the current state of Wine.
Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
What works
Installation still works.
The MS Visual C++ redistributible files, either vcredist.exe or vcredist _x86.exe need to be installed for DAZ|Studio to run.
Scene loaded.
Object loaded.
Scene rendered to viewport using 3Delight Renderer.
Scene rendered to file using 3Dlight Renderer. You can render larger than the viewport size this way.
Opject posed using PowerPose.
Morphs loaded.
Material edited.
Imported a backdrop.
Scene saved.
What does not
On startup, DAZ|Studio complains that the display is not set to 32-bit colour.
The Interface, while apparently better, still suffers from the effects of bug 2398.
The tools windows still vanish when using them. The Camera tools vanish while using them. While using the Powerpose tool only the dot for the limb you are manipulating remains visible. The Materials and Parameter tools behave similarly.
Objects or parts of objects cannot be selected in the Viewport, they must be selected in the Scene tab or window. The right-click menu does not work in the Viewport.
Rendering to a new window does not work.
What was not tested
Animation, import and export and OpenGL rendering.
Online registration.
Additional Comments
While apparently improved from the last version of Wine and far more usable, I still must give this a rating of "Garbage" as I feel the intended audience of this program, 3D hobbyists, would be unable to use it.
The "Classic" layout appears to work best under Wine.
The Microsoft Visual C++ runtime files are needed to run DAZ|Studio 1.7.1.x .
These are
available in a file called vcredist.exe or vcredist_x86.exe .
Either
version appears to work.
vcredist_x86.exe is available here at Microsoft. Please note that a Windows licence is needed to download this.
It is recommended that wine_gecko is installed for online registration to work.
WARNING
DAZ Studio appears not to run properly under the ATI proprietary fglrx drivers at present. If you are using an ATI card and experience problems, try the open source XOrg drivers.
If you are successfully using DAZ Studio 1.7.x with the fglrx drivers, could you please report which version of the fglrx drivers you are using and any xorg.conf settings that might be relevant.
