German version
by Matthi205 on Thursday September 13th 2012, 12:27
I'm using the German FO2 version and experience no problems whatsoever.
The only thing is that the framerate is slightly below what it used to be under Windows (not that it matters a lot if you have a HD6670).
Also, my version only wanted the disc in the drive on install and first start , the rest of the time the executable didn't invoke copy protection.
When I set Textures at normal or higher game freezes at loading. If it's low or very low game loads. What can I do to play with textures higher than low?
That's preferences at first load s009.radikal.ru/i308/1110/30/e6add9cc5f46.jpg I'm not sure about version of game. It's Flatout 2 most wanted. Is it 1.0 or 1.2? May be something different?

Crash
by jasse on Wednesday January 6th 2010, 7:42
When I start FlatOut 2, it works fine, except the top and bottom menu of Ubuntu is still visible. And when it gets to the loading screen, it's not really a picture that appears in the background, just mashed colours. Then the "Press start button" appears, and everything is normal again.
After that it's a awesome flow in the menus, but when I start a race, that colour thing appears again with a loading bar, than the whole game freezes and get grey and I have to close the application.
I've installed directx and such on Ubuntu 9.10 wine 1.1.35.
Hardware 3D audio
by Lauri Niskanen on Sunday December 28th 2008, 5:23
Disabling "Hardware 3D" from the Audio section in Flatout 2 setup doubled my in-game FPS. So if you are having low FPS, you should at least try if Hardware 3D sounds are limiting the FPS.
