HOWTO

HOW TO install PES 2008 on the 11/07/2008 (#2)

Config wine 1.1.1 on ubuntu hardy

Change since #1:

- No directx install (it can break wine)
- No need to erase video
- No need dll replacemement in wine config
- No need to put xinput by default



Limitation : at this time :

  • No carreer
  • No save
  • game is slow but it's the 1.0 version anyway
  • crash on exit, if you want to play again you may have to restart your xserver
  • no gamepad with d-input
  • game update don't work for me :(

TIP: You can play with your gamepad using Qjoypad or Rejoystick to emulate keybord, it works fine for me
then put option to xinput

CHOURMOVS

Please contact me in case of problem with this how to and remember PES is at a very early stage of emulation

    wine 1.1.42 en un Athlon II X2 250 3.0Ghz, 2gb de ram ddr2 800, IGP ATI Radeon 3100 de 512MB, ATI Catalyst 10.3, ubuntu linux 9.10 64bit

    works fine graphics and sound but in my case have erase video files

    I have done the installation as written in the tutorial, but when I start the game I always get the Error:

    Runtime Error!

    Program: C:\Programme\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\PES2008.exe

    This Aplication has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
    Please contact the Aplications support team for more information.

    Runs up to the 'press any key'. When I press a key, the text dissapears but nothing happens.

    When I try to install, evrythink works find at the beginnig, but I I have an error when it tries to extract the .ace file, it says that the file is not an ace file...

    Do you have an idea to help me?

    OS: Windows XP
    DirectDrawRenderer: opengl
    OffScreenRenderingMode: fbo
    UseGLSL: enabled
    PixelShaderMode: enabled

    Result: Runs up to the 'press any key'. When I press a key, the sound plays, but nothing happens next.

    Changing the OS to vista, renderer to gdi, offscreen rendering to backbuffer or a combination of those settings does not improve at all: either it is the same, or it doesnt start up at all and gives a black screen

    Wine version: the latest: 49, though it has been like this since i got the game (version 47 i believe)

    UseGLSL enabled is IMPORTANT!
    VideoMemorySize substituite with value real!
    OffscreebRenderingMode or fbo or backbuffer, change with different grafich cards!
