    Additional Comments

I've set the wine version to windows vista and checked Alsa under the sound settings.

I didn't have to make use of the gdiplus over-ride.

    1. Use winecfg to make wine emulate windows vista
    2. Install the Thinkwell player 10.8 (www.thinkwell.com/main/download)
    3. Install Quicktime 7.2
    (www.filehippo.com/download_quicktime_player/tech/2918/)
    4. Set Quicktime to play all videos in safemode
    Optional: disable quicktime's quicklaunch icon
