Braid is a 2d-side scrolling game. It features time-manipulation. You can rewind time by pressing the shift-button. Because of this you can not die.
Some worlds feature special time manipulation mechanisms, such as warping time, or multiple dimensions. The player tries to find all the puzzle pieces in the game.
