Continuum is a revamped version of Subspace, released many years ago by Virgin Interactive Entertainment. Continuum is a 2-d space shooter that supports a number of game styles (capture the flag, soccer, and of course free-for-all) and maintains a thriving community.

Please note that continuum version .40 is nearly identical to the .38 and .39pr1, except that it has a couple of bug fixes in it. .40 is now the only client that is working on the SSC zones, so it has to be used. That is why there are no other versions.
