RE: Instalation Problem

So, I think I may have found out what is happening.

The setup tries to copy "$CDROM/Setup/Data/Data/banners/navy_banners.CAS" while Disc 3 is in.. but this file doesn't exists on Disc 3, it is on Disc 1. Perhaps the installer ignores this in Windows ( or prompts for Disc 1 again? I don't remember ).

I had a similar problem and based on your comment I managed to solve it. I copied the data from all 3 CDs to one directory, but it appeared that some data (among others "banners" dir) were in the "data" directory not in "Data" - I copied everything from data to Data dir and installation worked ok.

Did you have to move these files? Because Windows is not case sensitive, I would have expected Wine to handle it correctly. Unless you had two directories 'data' and 'Data' which I imagine could cause confusion.

No i only copied them, I still have two directories - data and Data. It looks like wine searches files only in the second one.

This error also appears with 'Total War: Medieval'
I didn't get an error with 'TW: Rome - Gold Edition' CD

It seems to be something with the install program crapping out during CD swap???
Whenever I try to install 'TW: Medieval' it always pops up. Usually during CD swap, but not always. (Wine 1.1.36)

Anyone filed a bug report?
