Oh, and in honor of this patch, I have bestowed the name Henri upon my shadowknight's Warrior of Zek. Say hi if you see me on Kithicor!

For me it won't hit platinum for a while yet, I've had pretty bad framerate on my intel graphic card. When I get it working with the up to date wine again I'll start searching for the source of my lag but probably won't hit platinum for a while yet on my comp.

what kind of graphic settings are you running with this?

Cranked to maximum in most places.

Shaders 3.0 is still slow, but Shaders 1.0 works great with Wine 1.2-rc7. EQ2 GU57 promises some significant performance improvements for Shaders 3.0, so look for those in the coming weeks. :)

Sony has announced that many Shader 3.0 patches have been uploaded to the test server. I have followed up on this with the following tests. I am not submitting a test report because I used the test server.

Wine 1.2-rc7, Shader 1.0, Balanced Setting
I received about 20-25 fps with occasional shader errors, such as the sky being black.

Wine 1.2-rc7, Shader 3.0, Balanced Setting
I received about 30-35 fps with every texture rendered incorrectly. Everything except the black sky was rendered as a pale blue. I'll see if this bug is in Windows, or if the new patches broke compatibility.

I've conducted the same tests with Windows 7. Please note that all four tests were in the noob section of New Halas. This low-traffic area may not fully represent the rest of the game.

Windows 7, Shader 1.0, Balanced
I received 60-120 fps with no shader errors.

Windows 7, Shader 3.0, Balanced
I received 50-70 fps with no shader errors.

It looks like Wine still has a lot of work before reaching Platinum.
