Can you launch the TS3.EXE? in the sims 3 directory.
If you have some expansion packs or stuff packs, you can launch them directly. If it is a ep, browse to the EP directory and look for the TS3EPnn, where nn=the ep number, example is the University Life EP is 09. So to launch with University you would have something similar to below.

~$ >wine "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 University Life/Game/Bin/TS3EP09.exe"

For a Stuff pack, the executable is TS3SPnn, where nn=the stuff pack, specific example for Town Life Stuff is

~$ >wine "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 Town Life Stuff/Game/Bin/TS3SP04.exe"

If you have any questions, just ask and I hope this helps.

Hi, If I try to run either ts3.exe or ts3w.exe, both of them will now cause the launcher to run. I used to run ts3w.exe to bypass the launcher, but since the recent update now all they do is run the launcher. I even tried a clean wine prefix.

I have no addons or mods. It does not matter which wine version I use.

I'm wondering if I were to get an executable that is not from the steam version if this would work (bit-torrent is my friend)?

It looks like Sims 3 on Windows now does the same thing. If you try to run ts3.exe or ts3w.exe, it brings up the launcher instead going directly into the game.

Can anyone verify this? Is there any way with the current version of Sims 3 (1.55) to bypass the launcher?
