BearShare is a GnÂutella file-sharing servent. It is mature and has advanced features.
Sam Darwin at Free Peers writes: "BearShare pushes some aspects of windows sockets implementation to their limits, using completion ports and
asynchronous I/O and so forth. Moreover, there are many complex windows functions that bearshare relies on. As long as WINE does not fully emulate all windows dlls and system
behavior it will remain unlikely that bearshare will work on WINE. As
you yourself say "Wine fails to run programs more for incomplete
implementation rather than bugs." That is to say, WINE is an incomplete implementation. If WINE fully emulated Windows then BearShare would work right away without any modifications."
