Iometer is an I/O subsystem measurement and characterization tool for single and clustered systems. It allows you to find results like "the disk can make 2000 IOPs with 50% read, 50% write access". It contains a backend (dynamo) that runs natively on Linux and a front-end (iometer.exe) that needs wine to run on Linux. The backend performs the actual testing and is controlled by the front-end via the network.
