Costume Quest

Costume quest is the first game created as a result of Double Fine's fortnights. The game's development was lead by Tasha Harris, Double Fine's lead animator.

The game follows the protagonist, Reynold or Wren, (depending on who you choose) one of two twins going out to trick-or-treat. After the other twin is kidnapped by monsters after being mistaken for a giant piece of candy corn, it's up to you to save your twin, and take back all the stolen candy.

Gameplay consists of two parts: exploration and combat. During exploration, you control your protagonist, followed by your other party members, as you find new costumes, collect candy, trade stamps, play hide-and-seek, and go trick-or-treating. When encountering a monster, each member of your party transform into a giant version of their costume, and you take part in a turn-based battle that utilizes action commands (aka quick-time events) to improve your attacks and defence.
