The Fitbit Tracker family records the wearer's activity and reports it to Fitbit by synchronizing with an app through a Bluetooth USB dongle.
Sync apps are available for Windows, MacOS, and Android, but not for Linux. There is a Linux third-party open source app available called Galileo, but it is broken in many distros, particularly Debian-derived (Ubuntu, Mint, and Debian itself).
