Successor to Pinball FX2, FX3 continues to offer a free base game with additional tables available as paid DLC. Tables are available for various movies and other franchises like Star Wars or Portal. You can play single player modes or against others (over the internet or in hot seat mode). Amongst the modes available are challenges and normal pinball play. Pinball FX3 allows you to "level up" your tables if you play them and complete their challenges. If you prefer the pure experience without these upgrades, that's always available as an additional mode.
If you own Pinball FX2 and bought tables, some of those will carry over into Pinball FX3 and be available to you without buying them again.
