G-String originally started out as a Half-Life 2 mod, but then it turned into a fully fledged single player game and was released on Steam by some larger game study publisher.
It is by far the most amazing "mod" that was ever created by just one person. The music is awesome, very unique and plentiful and the visuals are too.
The game is not really innovative in terms of new mechanics though. So there is mostly just tons of shooting and platforming in it, besides the story, visuals and music of course.
The atmosphere is dystopic, similar to blade runner but it is not the same. It has so much of its own artistic style that it wouldn't do it justice to draw comparisons to other games.
