Motor City Online was a Massively-Multiplayer Online racing game developed in 2000 as a spin-off to the Need for Speed franchise, focused on classic cars rather than modern exotics as was the case at the time.
It was a commercial failure due to the lack of prevalence of fast, reliable internet among potential players at the time, and was shut down in 2003. It is only playable with third-party modifications allowing the game to be booted in offline mode.
