This application is developed to program a set of chips in a serial manner. Commonly known as JDM type programmer, this small card of easy construction and easily found in electronic shops is conected through the serial data port of any pc to program an interesting set of chips to name a few: supports small, medium and large family chips of microchip (pic 12XXX, 16XXXX & 18XXX) ,eeproms ic2, 4-wire, im-bus, microwire, serial eeproms among others.
I've just programmed a pic16f84a succesfully, I've read the code, and verified the programmed code. I used wine20050111 in mandrake 10.0 width an Intel IV 2.4 GHz, 512 RAM, 80 G HDD, kernel 2.6 It's a good alternative to gpicd & gputils (www.sourceforge.net)
I also managed to compile my source code with MPASM (www.microchip.com) under wine, the recommended assembler compiler to be used for converting from *.asm to *.hex. I loaded the Hex file in IC-prog and programmed my chip successfully.
