Stars! is a turn-based 4X (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate) sci-fi strategy game, originally published in 1995 for 16-bit Windows. It supports both single-player games against an AI, and play-by-email style multi-player games. Despite its age, it is quite complex and sophisticated and maintains an active player base.
Stars! was originally published as shareware by Jeff Johnson and Jeff McBride, and later published as a retail product on CD-ROM by now-defunct Empire Interactive.
