UltraEdit is a very powerful text editor. It has support for many modern languages including C, C++, Perl, HTML, Java, JScript, XML, XSL and VB.

Amongst other features, it includes support for

• Syntax Highlighting (Heavily customisable)
• Customisable interface (including toolbars, menus, custom tools, etc)
• FTP/SFTP transfers, with saved account options
• Language-specific function lists
• Find and replace across multiple files, including regular expression support
• Hex, Unicode, DOS/UNIX & large files

This is about the Windows version only.

A native Linux and MAC version (UEX) was released first in 2009.

[1] Because of an existing native Linux version of UltraEdit and a bunch of *nix editors, this is only for a reference installations and for test purpose.
