GRIP (Generic Role-playing for Internet Players)
allows Game Masters to run their campaigns over the Internet, or
personal/local networks for up to 8 players using a specialized
personal game server. GRIP is tailored made, and designed for online
role-playing. Built from the ground up with Game Masters and Players in
GRIP comes in two editions: the freeware Player's package and the shareware GM's package (downloadable as a 60-day free trial), which includes the Player's edition. If you do not register, the GM capabilities will time out, but the Player's modules are free forever.
Where GRIP shines even yet is in its complete RPG neutrality and the character sheet markup language (CSML), which permits a savvy script writer to design interactive character sheets for whatever game system he chooses. Once someone has written the basic character sheet for a game system, any player client can load and use it with any iGM server.
