3DVIA aims at being the YouTube of 3D media. It allows sharing and rendering 3D models on your browser, if you use Windows. You can upload 3D models made with an external application (eg. Blender, 3dsMax, SolidWorks, etc.), or you can create and upload your model with 3DVIA Shape.
The 3DVIA plugin for browsers is based on ActiveX. So it cannot be used on Linux, as far as I am concerned.
The only way to render any 3D model available on the 3DVIA website consists in installing 3DVIA Shape.
