Madden NFL 08

What works

Install, mini games/skill drills, "play now" game, franchise mode.

What does not

MP3 music feature--disable this in the options.  Right horizontal axis of Saitek P990 dual analog stick.  See attached bugs for these two.  Application launcher splash screen--run the file "mainapp.exe" instead of "Madden08.exe".

Additional Comments

Use DLL override for native dxdiagn.dll to install, otherwise it won't "detect" DirectX and won't install. Madden adds a folder "Madden NFL 08" in whatever folder you have designated in "winecfg" as your "My Documents" folder. Go to this folder and find "Madden.ini", you should probably back it up. Open the file in a text editor and find the lines that say "Hardware Shaders" and "Video Texture Compression" and set both of these to "On". This enabled me to run the game silky smooth at highest detail settings, when I was having trouble running it smoothly on low settings before.
