Additional Comments
a small how-to on installing tversity on kubuntu using wine 1) install wine i'm using 0.9.37 on kubuntu 7.04 (feisty) 2) run wineboot to create configuration directory 3) run winecfg, open "Audio" page and set "Hardware Acceleration" to "Emulation". 4) install latest ffdshow (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm) 5) install latest tversity, ignore the error about not being able to install the MediaServer service. 6) copy the following dll's to .wine/drive_c/windows/system32: wmvcore.dll wmidx.dll wmasf.dll drmclien.dll qedit.dll quartz.dll 7) register qedit.dll: wine regsvr32 .wine/drive_c/windows/system32/qedit.dll register quartz.dll: wine regsvr32 .wine/drive_c/windows/system32/quartz.dll 8) run wineboot 9) start MediaServer: wine MediaServer.exe -start (on crash of MediaServer, try again after wineserver and MediaServer processes have stopped) 10) browse to: http://localhost:41952/ 11) configure your MediaServer (everything except transcoding should work now.) 12) watch / listen on your mediaclient note: when restarting / starting MediaServer make sure the wineserver and MediaServer.exe are not running anymore.
