Additional Comments

Tested with server 1.005, server's installation file can be downloaded from 'http://www.massgate.net/downloads.php'. The server still likely have SecuROM protection code still embedded in the software (see bug link's comment #24 for details). It doesn't seem possible at this time to run the server in console-only mode, as the server does some DirectX functionality tests, which requires X to be running in order for these checks to pass. Running the server without X (via 'wine' command) results in a crash. Running the server in console mode (via 'wineconsole') result in ncurses going bonkers as the process runs. Unknown if the server is actually running while in this state. Ctrl-C is unresponsive when this happens and one must do a 2nd login process kill (and 'reset') to regain control.
