Everything. I've played the game many years.
I have dual core chip, 4 GB ram, Nvidia 9600gt with x-org drivers. I play at 1080 on a 42" TV.
What does not
Everything I tested works.
What was not tested
Online gaming. I have only tested one mod- The BAT Mod.
How I unstall on Ubuntu 10.10 with Wine 1.3.37. 1. Purge 'pulse audio' from your system. Search online for the 'elegant method'. 2. Open 'Winetricks', select 'Install a Windows DLL or component' and install- d3dx9, msxml3, msxml4, quartz, devenum. select 'Install a font' and install- corefonts, lucida, tahoma. 3. Open 'Wineconfig'. Select 'libraries' tab and add 'gameux' and edit it disabled, add 'msxml3r' and edit it native. Leave all the others as marked. 4. Open 'Uninstall Wine Software'. Select 'install' button and navigate to the file you want. I used 'Setup.exe' for each disc. Install CIV IV and all updates 109, 161, 1.74. Install Warlords and all updates 2.08, 2.13. Install BTS and all updates 3.02, 3.03_B, 3.13, 3.17e, 3.19. 4a. I also install CivBlueMarble and The BAT Mod 3.0.1. 5. Open 'Winetricks' use 'Change settings' to set 'videomemorysize=1024' (if you have it) and 'sound=alsa'(if pulse is purged). Ready to play. 6. On previous wine versions I've had to copy dll's to system32 as described below. I've also had to remove msxml3 from game files. I did not have to do either for this version of Wine.

note: you have to use external msxml3.dll
(I doubt these are not needed anymore msxml3r.dll, d3dx9_26.dll, d3dx9_31.dll, d3dx9_32.dll, d3dx9_33.dll
i ran the game (and the installer) with:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="msxml3=n" wine "C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe"
multiplayer over LAN works using vanilla BTS. multiplayer with mods requires DIRECT IP CONNECTION method.
INTERNET GAMES and PBEM were not tested. only multiplayer over LAN is confirmed.
