Installation - as has been clarified in previous versions, the installation process is painless
What does not
Execution - The program relies on a Windows Service (ElbyCDIO.sys).
When first attempting to execute the program, it barks that it failed to init ElbyCDIO - end of story.
Upon examination, the elbycdio service is not running after a wine program starts. I tested this by running "regedit", then examining all running programs (in another shell using ps). I see one or two other services loaded, but elbycdio is not there. attempting to stop the service (via "wine net stop elbycdio") produces the following response from wine:
fixme:service:EnumDependentServicesA 0x1222f0 0x00000001 (nil) 0x00000000 0x32edcc 0x32edc8 - stub Invalid service control
I don't know exactly what the fixme means, and will not speculate since it is not important. Attempting to start the service via "wine net start elbycdio" produces this response:
The ElbyCDIO Driver service is starting. Service already running
I have attempted to run anydvd in winedbg, but honestly it is a bit too much for me. I'll keep playing, but this is as far as I get.
What was not tested
Could not actually test the actual functionality of the the software, since it will not initialize (let alone run).
