Ancestry Family Tree

What works

Appearance and function of program's core interface components: the Pedigree, Family, and Name List tabs; pop-up data entry and edit dialogs; menu bar and toolbar. Program's real-time background accesses of Ancestry.com database info on individuals in your tree. Help system works, despite program's accompanying message to the contrary when accessing it through the Help menu. Embedded web browser windows are triggered (to open), display, and navigate correctly, with caveat below.

What does not

Embedded web page text boxes used to enter login information don't respond to focus (i.e. don't take input). If not for this simple glitch (critical to accessing the online databases), it would have a Platinum rating. (Note: This hasn't been debugged, so anyone willing and able is certainly encouraged to do so.)

Additional Comments

Installer checks for and requires IE4+. Following the two steps described in the Wine Wiki FAQ under "How do I install Internet Explorer in Wine?" (i.e. Gecko + registry keys) allows the installer to proceed and appears to work fine for the purposes of this app, with the exception of text box form elements.
