SimCity 2000

What works

Installing works, game works, albeit somewhat slowly. Sound only works on Windows 98 Mode. Urban Resource Kit works flawlessly.

What does not

Under XP mode, the sound does not work, possibly from being in PCM (pulse-code modulation) MIDI format. Loading or saving a city causes SimCity 2000 to crash to the linux desktop. Does not work from command-line (have to navigate to file in the konqueror file manager). Running it under Windows 3.1 mode gives the error "SimCity 2000 has not been properly registered with the system. Please re-install the game."

What was not tested

Not tested under Wine modes of Windows ME, Windows 2000, Server 2003, or Vista. The game runs somewhat slower in Windows XP mode. Re-installing under windows 3.1 mode was not tested.

Additional Comments

This program does not run under DOSbox (despite being an MS-DOS program released originally for MS-DOS version 5.0 and windows 3.0). It also does not run under DOSEMU. While i love this game, its load and save features seem heavily crippled. If i could rate the Urban Resource Kit separately, that would get platinum, and this would get silver.
