Wolf sim game, 1st episode. Developed by a zoo and educational software developer on grant money. The current version as available for download at http://www.wolfquest.org/.
It seems as though it's still in development with some sort of incremental release cycle, where each increment gets a new geographic release name.
The game install fine via the msiexec component of wine.
Proceeds to launch. Presented starting screen and wolf creation screen correctly.
What does not
In game, the foreground is not rendered correctly and shows floating trees and bushes. Input is jumpy and seems intermittent. Did not display full screen. Was on the border of being worth messing around in and being unplayable.
What was not tested
Tested using an ati mobility x700 128 mb with catalyst 7.11 driver. Not sure how this plays into things, though it may have an impact. (From experience, some things have extra problems on ATI hardware.) while playing, console gets constant error messages: fixme:d3d:state_fog Implement table fog for foggy vertex shader fixme:d3d:state_fog Implement table fog for foggy vertex shader fixme:d3d:state_fog Implement non linear fog for pixel shader < 3.0 fixme:d3d:state_fog Implement non linear fog for pixel shader < 3.0 There are also a couple of errors shown in console on install, but I didn't log them.
