Everything except punkbuster-enabled multiplayer servers

Certain types of graphic filters. Soft shadows kills it while some others just bring defects and poor performance.

You need to recompile wine with the 3dmark patch (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=8548) to play this game -- and yes, this patch still works on 0.9.56 You also need d3dx9_34.dll from a Windows release or (http://www.m3fe.com/files/d3dx9_34.zip). Copy it into system32 then add the dll through winecfg. You must also launch this game from a console and be inside the Call of Duty 4 folder when you call "wine iw3sp.exe"
