What works
Printing fully functional
Garmin GPS III RS 232 serial works; up and down transfers. Use "Garmin" format.
Display doesn't flicker with this version
What does not
Garmin GPS III transfer didn't not work over a USB to serial converter. This should be fixable with some thought but I have an RS232 port also!
If you update to the Europe version of Memory Map the online activation doesn't work. (You have to update if you have a .mmo tracks and routes file in a newer version than your install CD. Without activation you can't print or use the GPS.
The 3D world and fly through are very slow.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Everything to plan a walk, do a 3D fly through, print the map, upload the route to GPS and download the track was tested. Everything else was not tested.
