subsequent to above test - I installed the mfc42 windows dlls using the winetricks script. $ sh winetricks mfc42 This enabled the program to load until the following error: fixme:mountmgr:harddisk_ioctl unsupported ioctl 4d004 The app then locks, requiring Ctrl-C in the terminal to close it.

HOWTO
There have been no reports of success in getting iriver plus 3 to work in Wine. However, you may make progress by using native mfc42u.dll, or by using winetricks vcrun6. Check out bug 12454 for more info.
