HowTo / Notes

HOWTO

To properly install Jarte 3.0 on Wine (1.1+) you will need to use native DLL's. Jarte will run without them but will crash frequently and certain features such as 'insert web links' will not function. The DLL's required are listed below please take note of how to use these DLL's.

Required native DLL's.

1. riched20.dll
2. msls31.dll
3. msftedit.dll

How to install Jarte 3.0

Run setup as normal and then perform these additional tasks before starting the program...

First copy all three above listed dll's into your Wine's system32 folder (.wine/drive_c/windows/system32)

Now you must run winecfg.

In winecfg you should  click 'add new application' - and add the Jarte.exe file from your Program Files directory. Once that has been done this is what you want to do...

Click 'Libraries' and add riched20.dll and msftedit.dll edit both of them and set the executiion to 'native' only. (the default will be native, builtin but this will cause problems it must be set to native alone.)

DO NOT ADD MSLS31.DLL TO THIS LIST OF LIBRARIES - ONLY COPY THIS FILE.

After all of this is done you should be able to use Jarte.
