I've mostly been testing with Darwine on MacOS/X but I've had the same results with Ubuntu 8.04. The app installs flawlessly but will not run no matter what work-arounds I try: installing Mono, trying to install .NET2, etc. This is the latest stable version of YNAB Pro 2.5.6.0.

Sometime it happens that YNAB comes up only with a black screen. It seems that your graphics card doesn't support fully OpenGL - you will need to disable it like this:
