Everything including midi in & out, using jackd & qsynth before starting Finale, and the adjusting the midisettings in Finale.
Take care that the midi playback is selected, not the playback through vst.
In the midi setup, at the end of the list there will be a midiportnumber that can be selected; through this one, midi playback just works ...
To work around the error mentioned below about MSVCR80.dll & FINMIDI.DLL, after some time of fruitless searching and downloading the dll-file and installing the vcredist_x86.exe, I did the following:
1. I uninstalled wine with the package manager of my distro
2. I backed up & put away out of my home folder the ~/.wine directory
3. I re-installed wine & used the winetricks-script to install vcrun2008sp1
4. I re-installed Finale & everything works as before
What does not
since wine 1.3.32, all graphic issues seem to have vanished! (curly braces & ties)
What was not tested
playback through vst
Entering notes through the midi keyboard with hyperscribe gives me 0 latency, while i cannot say that of my experiences with a real windows computer ... I feel I can work like a professional on my linux box with this program!
