It has some glitches: empty icons in toolbar, windows resizes only with top and left borders, there is no paddings between icons in project tree and in menus and so on.

Also AC unexpetedly craches in some cases.

archicad 8 by Evgeny on Wednesday December 10th 2008, 9:11 ArchiCAD 8.0 and 8.1 installs and works ok in general, but I would not recommend use it in production work because there are a lot of untested features which can be a cause of unexpected crashes. E.g. AC crashes when I try to open complex object from library and so on. But AC 8 in Wine useful for small changes in project, print or convert it into 3D. For install you need: * latest wine build * fresh .wine directory or `export WINEPREFIX=/home/path/archicad8` * installed Java (JRE or MSJAVA from AC8 distribution) * installed QuickTime (prefered from AC8 distribution) * disabled window composite manager (it makes OpenGL preview slowed)
