What works

Installation went smoothly. All main functions (except "Help") that I have tried seem to be working, although the application has a tendency to crash after mouse menu actions (see "Extra Comments" below). Generally works well using keyboard controls, but frequent saving of the current project ("ctl-P") is definitely recommended. Loading videos, ad detection, interactive editing of cut points, thumbnail display, saving project files, saving edited videos -- all of these are working, but using the mouse for menu selection will very frequently cause the program to crash with a wine error report. The license registration (Help / Enter Software Key) works, including the paste from clipboard function. (Both the trial key and a purchased license key.)

What does not

- Colour map for the main video review window is incorrect (blue faces...)

- Pop-up windows for the saving video output summary, license "reminders", (and probably others...) only have the titled window, with a blank area where the text should appear.

- Help screens are not properly displayed and are not generally functional.

Additional Comments

VideoReDo works quite well in keyboard mode, but crashes with the following 3 main errors in wine: - Bugzilla Bug 7959 X Error of failed request: BadPixmap (invalid Pixmap parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 54 (X_FreePixmap) - Bugzilla Bug 8033???? (Not positive this is the correct reference, but appears to be the same) wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000cbf8 at address 0x7bc37d55 (thread 0009), starting debugger... Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x0000cbf8 in 32-bit code (0x7bc37d55). - I've been unable to definitively locate a Bugzilla entry for this next one, although similar reports have been filed: fixme:mshtml:HlinkTarget_SetBrowseContext 0x4cc86c8)->((nil)) fixme:shdocvw:OleObject_Close (0x4d2f760)->(1) wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0xc000000d at address 0xc800a7 (thread 0024), starting debugger... Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0xc000000d in 32-bit code (0x00c800a7). After the trial registration had reduced to about 7 days, the "reminder" pop-up window started occurring each time I tried loading a saved project file, and closing this window resulted in hitting one of the wine bugs (Bugzilla Bug 8033?) about 99% of the time, which meant even the "frequent saves" approach wasn't very practical anymore. When I entered my purchased license key, the "reminder" pop-ups stopped, and I have been using VRD in keyboard mode quite successfully since.
