What works

As far as I can see, and I have several accounts set up, it all works including adding transactions and scheduled payments.  Even typing in the long path for the back-up/restore routine works better on Linux than it did on Windows. Bear in mind that even in its 'native' OS, it has to be run in 'compatibility mode' to make back-up/restore work on newer Windows versions, if you want to avoid a 'disk full' message. To find that it works just fine on a Linux kernel is very impressive. If Restore hadn't worked it would have been useless! This comes as a great source of relief as the software market is devoid of mainstream banking s/w like Quicken and MS Money which were easy to use.

Installed just fine from the autorun.exe file (not, for some reason the setup.exe file). As this software is now defunct and unsupported, ask for the custom install so you can uncheck IE 4.0 install! Also, when registering , go for the 'telephone' option, so you can key your customer number in manually. On-line registering will NOT work. Had a little trouble finding my back-up file (put into Dropbox by my Windows PC) with which to restore all my settings as I'm new to Lubuntu and didn't know the directory structure - Dropbox is IN "My Documents". This was the 'millenium bug' update version of Quicken '98.
