What works

Game is fully playable with DirectX 5 engine. To force DirectX 5 engine, use this on command line:
$ wine Tibia.exe engine 0

At least on Intel 915GM cards, it is necessary to make the following registry change:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D\DirectDrawRenderer = gdi
Otherwise you'll have various glitches.

Just in case, here's the entire section of ~/.wine/user.reg:
[Software\\Wine\\Direct3D] 1205188874

Beware, some other programs may have problems because of these changes. This Works For Me (tm)

What does not

"Light effects"  (dynamic lighting)

OpenGL engine

DirectX 9 engine

What was not tested

Game was played for only a short time; there is however no reason for other problems.
