What works

  • Main Application and Activation
  • Rendering/Importing MP4's, and other media.
  • Editing up to 1080p

What does not

  • Video Capture

When you install, activate and launch the application, there will be a popup for upgrading. When you see it, immediately close it, for the reason that Vegas will crash the second the prompt tries to load. Go to Options > Preferences, then go over to where it says Use Net Notify to stay informed about Sony products and click the checkbox to make sure the check isn't there.

You'd also like to turn off the Media Manager since you might not even use it anyways. This is optional, but if you leave it on there will be a popup for MS$SQL every time you start.

What was not tested

  • Typical features, like CD Burning and Exporting to PSP.

Hardware tested

  • GPU: Intel
  • Driver: open source
