With a little registry tweak the game starts, it is quite slow but playable. Going underwater the game becomes unplayable. I played the tutorial isles.
What does not
Going underwater the frame-rate drops to unplayable levels.
What was not tested
In order to play I used this winetricks line: $ winetricks orm=backbuffer heapcheck - heapcheck is needed to avoid a "Memory Access Violation" fatal error. - without orm=backbuffer (so orm is the default fbo) the overlays are flipped upside down. Even the mouse movements are reversed. So a tutorial to play might be: - Download the .zip version, unpack it somewhere: I assume "$HOME"/stranded2. - create the directory "$HOME"/stranded2/wine - set the environ $ export WINEPREFIX = "$HOME"/stranded2/wine $ export XDG_DATA_HOME = "$HOME"/stranded2/wine/env - sets-up wine $ WINEDLLOVERRIDES="mshtml=" wineboot -u $ winetricks orm=backbuffer heapcheck $ cd "$HOME"/stranded2 - finally play with wine strandedii.exe. Have fun!
