"Cubase LE is the OEM version of Cubase (based on
version 1) that comes "free" bundled with audio hardware... [it is] a
fully functional cut-down version. It is not a supported product."
It is basically a stripped-down OEM version of their popular Cubase DAW that comes bundled with many popular audio interfaces, bÂut it has full MIDI support, 24-bit capability, 2 master VSTi slots and a few VST inserts per track and a track count up to 48 tracks. I figured that I would submit this since many people who have bought PreSonus, EMU or M-audio gear etc probably have a copy collecting dust somewhere, even though it is a perfectly usable, albeit limited.
This version is more stable than the older versions, but it offers fewer VST and VSTi slots.

Would not work with the default PulseAudio sound system. I removed PulseAudio from my system and just used standard ALSA. Cubase wouldn't work with just ALSA either, so I configured Wine to use Jack and Cubase launched without errors. Everything I've tried with it has worked perfectly with Jack audio.
