Remote connections (ie to FM Server hosted files). All menus work as expected (including Scripts). Creation of new files. Screen redraw is slow in some cases (complex layouts). Requires extra fonts to be installed to get best UI experience.
Inserting a picture into a container works as expected, even showing the preview.
What does not
I suspect due to a font issue, the Database Definitions window cannot display field names, types, etc. The same issue is present when trying to create/edit a Script; no script steps defined can be seen, although if you click on one you can then edit it's properties. In a nutshell this means you cannot develop a DB but can use an existing one.
Most critical problem is sudden lock-ups which I'm investigating. If the DB is running a looping script then it continues to work fine, but if you're using the DB (ie switching from Layout to Browse mode or resizing the window) then it can suddenly stop responding.
What was not tested
Have not tried printing or PDF/Excel file creation. Not tried sharing a Database.
I have successfully used this setup via FreeNX. Oddly the screen redraw issue is almost non-existent when connected remotely in this way (LAN or otherwise). Other than this, the same 'features/faults' outlined above are still present, in particular the lock-up.
