All the tools work and their sub features work. All the menus work. The duplicate feature works. The nudge feature works. Selecting fonts is now possible. The copy and paste of text works. The help feature works from the index selection. I opened a PDF file with no problem. The files created in wine did open in my windows version of CorelDRAW 9
What does not
Copy and paste of objects brings up an unexpected error and crashes the program.
Trying to open a file created in CorelDRAW 9 on windows was tricky. When I deleted the objects off the white area around the drawing of a 10 page document it would then open the file. (I deleted the objects on a windows computer.)
The help feature worked only through the index. The search feature on the help did not work. Corel would say "not yet implemented"
Printing a document did not work. Trying to print brought up Pages of code. The first line printed %%BeginDocument : Wine passthrough.
What was not tested
Photo Paint 9 was barely tested. It seemed to function but I hardly know its features so I did not test much.
I did not try any wine tricks etc. The files I opened were saved as cdr files, CorelDRAW 9`s native format. I rated this Bronze just a week or so ago. Since then Ubuntu did a larger than usual update. It fixed most of the problems I had experienced the week earlier. However it is a little difficult changing fonts using the mouse but vastly better than before the update. I immediately used CorelDRAW after the Ubuntu Update and I was using wine 1.4r1. After I downloaded Wine 1.4r2 and reinstalled CorelDRAW 9 a problem went away. In the earlier version when opening a paragraph text box, Corel would let me know the spell assist would not be available. After the wine update that problem went away. When I went through the registration and installation it flew through with zero hiccups as opposed to earlier. The copy and paste feature is a very useful part of the program. I was not able to print my documents. Because these features do not work I would rate it a low silver at this moment. If the programmers working for wine could get the copy and paste working in Coreldraw 9 and it able to print. I would rate it gold. If the progress that CorelDRAW 9 has been having, can keep up, in a short while we will be able to give it a platinum rating. Take care Ron Ewing

Current State (2007-09-16)
Corel Draw was tested using wine 0.9.22 - 45 and - so far - CorelDraw is currently working. Needs some addtional native dlls and laks of printing support. But works fine for me.
- Rotated Text becomes invisible on some systems
- Printing produces only printed postscript code instead of the graphics
Applying Service Packs to Corel Draw becomes possible. For all those who don't have the service packs I added it to my Webseite: http://www.intersoft-networks.ch/index.php?id=29.
Corel Draw 9 currently (as at 2007-09-16) works only with wine 0.9.22 (as far as tested). There are several dlls required to make full functionality working. Installation works without any addtional hack (just start the setup).
Running Corel needs the following dlls:
The dlls are required to enable copy+paste as well as pdf export.
Set the Windows Version to "Windows 98" and Corel 9 with the follwing WINEDLLOVERRIDES:
Crashes sometimes but it works good for the rest .
