Additional Comments

1) During installation it keeps asking to insert the CD, even though it is in. It's enough just to copy the ever17 directory from all the CDs. 2) Needs a native msacm32.dll else it'll crash. 3) Everytime there's a video sequence a white or black screen will appear (skip with Esc). I think this has something to do with codecs, since the audio triggers ffdshow decoding on my setup (MP2) and I found "encoded by TMPGEnc" in the video files, giving out that it is most likely in MPEG1/2 format. 4) Despite having installed core Microsoft fonts (both from msttfcorefonts and an existing XP install) the dialogue doesn't show up. 5) Trial version installs, but exhibits exactly the same font problem.
