Nearly flawless, there a few items listed in "What does not work" other then that it runs perfect.
What does not
Death from colliding with an object, If an object hits and kills you, the whole game crashes, this alone makes it nearly unplayable.
DirectX 7.0 has major bugs, alpha transparency doesn't work at all, it just doesn't show up, although DirectX 8.0 works perfectly.
What was not tested
The nearly infinite number of addons.
If it weren't for the crashing on death it would be rated platinum.

If your garry's mod crashes before submitting a bug or commenting on here, here is what you should try:
This should fix any HUD issues you may have: (You may not be able to see certain effects like fire in the game with this)
In steam right click Garry's mod click Properties click "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..." Enter this:
to run in windowed mode add: -window -h 864 -w 1152
This will stop the crash when being killed by a moving object:
In winecfg (terminal -> winecfg) click Add application on the Applications tab
Browse to Program Files\Steam\steamapps\(username)
select hl2.exe and click Open
With hl2.exe selected in the list change the windows version to Windows 98 (via the drop down box near the bottom is should be default say "Use global settings")
Hit Apply/OK, then try to launch Garry's mod again
